Every season's leading scorer from 1972-73 to 2025-26, checked against the league's own archive where it goes back far enough, with this season's list beside it.

Since the 2013-14 awards the prize has been called the Mansour Muftah Award, after the Al-Rayyan forward who led the scoring list four times outright in the 1980s and shared it once.
Akram Afif (Al Sadd) leads the 2026-27 list with 5 goals after 5 rounds.

Records
Bounedjah's 39 in 2018-19 came in a 22-round season and was 13 more than anyone else managed that year: Youssef El-Arabi of Al Duhail and Akram Afif of Al Sadd both finished on 26. The next highest winning total is Clemerson's 27 for Al-Gharafa in 2007-08.
At the other end, seven goals were enough twice in a row, for Mansour Muftah in 1983-84 and Ahmed Yaqoub of Al-Arabi in 1984-85. Up to 1992-93 every recorded winner scored 11 or fewer, apart from Muftah's 19 in 1981-82 and 22 in 1985-86.
Muftah is the only player to finish top three seasons running, from 1981-82 to 1983-84. Counting shared titles, two in a row is more common. Mubarak Mustafa of Al-Arabi did it in 1991-92 and 1992-93, Younis Mahmoud of Al-Gharafa in 2009-10 and 2010-11, Dioko Kaluyituka of Al Ahli in 2013-14 and 2014-15, Youssef El-Arabi in 2016-17 and 2017-18, Michael Olunga of Al Duhail in 2021-22 and 2022-23, and Róger Guedes in the last two seasons. Alboury Lah of Al Ahli shared the title in both 1996-97 and 1997-98.

Until 1987-88 every winner was Qatari except Sharif Abdul-Hamed, who shared the 1979-80 title. Foreign players started winning it in the late 1980s and through the 1990s, and after the Qatar Football Association funded foreign signings at every club in 2003 they took it over. Batistuta won it in the first season of that spending, and in the 22 seasons from 2004-05 to 2025-26 a Qatari player has finished top, alone or level, in only 4: 2012-13, 2015-16, 2019-20 and 2023-24. Akram Afif accounts for two of those, and his 26 in 2023-24 is the highest total by a Qatari player in the list. Sebastián Soria and Rodrigo Tabata were both born in South America and played for Qatar after naturalisation. The squad rules that decide how many foreign players a club can field.
Where the sources disagree
Wikipedia credits Mansour Muftah with seven top scorer titles. The league's own profile of him lists four, in 1982, 1983, 1984 and 1986, with 19, 10, 7 and 22 goals, and its profile of Badr Bilal says the two shared the title in 1979-80. That makes five, which is the count we use. The two extra seasons in Wikipedia's count, 1976-77 and 1977-78, have no scorer at all in RSSSF, and neither does 1973-74, which Wikipedia's season table also gives to Muftah. All three are left blank here.
A few recent totals also differ by a goal. Wikipedia's lists have 19 for Sebastián Soria in 2012-13 and 18 for Adriano in 2011-12, and its 2025-26 season article has 20 for Guedes. The league's archive has 20, 19 and 21, and this page follows the league. For Younis Mahmoud in 2006-07, Wikipedia's main league article says 24 while its season article and its list of top scorers say 19; the league's archive does not go back that far, and we have used 19.
For career totals there is no official list. Wikipedia's all-time table puts Sebastián Soria first with 211 league goals and Mansour Muftah second with 179, but it cites no source and does not date the figures for players who are still playing, so it is not reproduced here.
