Al Shahaniya 0-4 Al Sadd: Afif scores twice and Giovani sets up both first-half goals
Al Shahaniya 0-4 Al Sadd in Week 7 of the Qatar Stars League 2026-27: the goals and how they came, from the league's report.
Akram Afif scored twice for Al Sadd, who were two goals up inside half an hour at Khalifa International Stadium and never gave Al Shahania a way back. Roberto Firmino and Mostafa Meshal got the others as the defending champions won again.
Afif opened the scoring in the 21st minute. Giovani Henrique found him, and he went past a defender before beating the goalkeeper. Giovani was the provider again seven minutes later, in the 28th minute, when he laid the ball back inside the D for Firmino, who put it into the bottom left corner. Al Sadd led 2-0 at half-time. Afif got his second and the third goal early in the second half, in the 51st minute. Meshal finished the scoring in the 70th, following up after the goalkeeper had blocked the first attempt.
The win takes Al Sadd to 15 points. Al Shahania stay on seven, after an afternoon in which they did not score and could not stop Afif, who was involved in the first goal from the moment Giovani's pass reached him.
