The match

Oussama Tannane decided the match early in the second half, hitting a left-footed shot from outside the box in the 47th minute. Al Arabi held on to that 3-2 lead for the rest of Friday's game at Jassim Bin Hamad, where Al Sadd had twice come from behind before the break.

Pablo Sarabia put the visitors ahead in the fourth minute. Roberto Firmino equalised for Al Sadd in the 12th, but Sarabia scored again almost at once, so Al Arabi were 2-1 up inside the opening 13 minutes. Agustin Soria brought the hosts level in the 42nd minute, and the sides went in at 2-2 at half-time. Tannane's goal came soon after the restart.

Sarabia did the most for Al Arabi. Both of his goals put his side in front, and the second came almost straight after Firmino had levelled. Al Sadd recovered from a goal down twice in the first half, with Soria's equaliser sending them in on level terms. They found no reply after Tannane's strike, and the visitors kept the lead until the final whistle.
