Al Shahaniya 1-0 Lusail: Surag scores in the 54th minute and Ellethy makes five saves
Al Shahaniya 1-0 Lusail in Week 5 of the Qatar Stars League 2026-27: the goals and how they came, from the league's report.
Mohamed Surag scored the only goal of the game in the 54th minute at Khalifa International Stadium, and Al Shahania held that lead until the final whistle. Lusail spent the rest of the match looking for an equaliser and could not find a way past Shehab Ellethy.
Neither side scored in the first half, and the teams went in level at 0-0. Both came out livelier after the break, and Al Shahania soon took their chance on the counter-attack. Jawad El Jemili ran through and crossed, and Surag scored.
Ellethy did most to protect the result. Lusail pushed hard for an equaliser once they were behind, and the Al Shahania goalkeeper made five saves to deny them, each one keeping the margin at a single goal. El Jemili deserves a mention too. His run through and his cross made the only goal of the match.
